Installation Requirements

To ensure a smooth and quick installation of your DEKI hardware PC based on Nvidia Jetson, it is essential that the client is well-prepared with the following installation requirements and best practices:

Network infrastructure requirements:

• Ensure a reliable and high-speed Local Area Network (LAN) is set up, capable of handling the bandwidth required for multiple IP cameras and the DEKI device.

• Make sure the network has a properly configured DHCP server to automatically assign IP addresses to the DEKI device. If the target network doesn't have DHCP, plug DEKI SAFE into a network that does have DHCP configured and log in to manually set static IP for the target network.

• The client should have compatible IP cameras already installed and connected to the network. Ensure the cameras are configured with the correct settings, see -> Camera Installation.

• Have a high-quality Ethernet cable available to connect the DEKI device to the network.

• If necessary, provide a network switch with enough ports to accommodate the DEKI device and all IP cameras.

• Check and adjust the network firewall and security settings to allow the DEKI device to communicate with the IP cameras and the provided web interface.

• For optimal functionality, verify that the device has internet access and that the cameras connected provide accurate time. This connectivity is crucial for syncing world time, ensuring accurate video frame processing. If the device operates on an isolated network, an internal NTP (Network Time Protocol) service must be established for world time synchronization. In such a setup, please contact [e-mail] for assistance in configuring the necessary settings.

Make sure the network has a properly configured DHCP server to automatically assign IP addresses to the DEKI device.

If you didn't manage to manually set static IP address, let us know at [e-mail], what IP address should be assigned, network mask, gateway address and DNS. Please feel free to test this IP address beforehand, to see if you have direct access to the video sources you want to connect through this address.

Environmental conditions requirements:

• Make sure the device is placed horizontally in a well ventilated environment.

• Make sure to maintain a gap of at least 6 cm or more between the air vents of the device and the wall to allow fans to cool the device properly.

• Avoid tilting, inverting the device.

• Avoid installing the device in a high temperature, damp, dusty or smoking environment

• Make sure the ambient temperature stays between 10ºC-35ºC.
